We were the specialist mechanics used by Gary Harris, The Nissan Primastar owner featured in the video.

The injector is of the Piezo type and is being removed using a force of 10 tonnes

The injector is of the Piezo type and is being removed using the stage two method where the electrical connection has been removed to allow a secondary and stronger hold on the injector as the force is above 10 tons.

 The injector is of the older Bosch solenoid type and is removed using 10 tonnes of hydraulic force, the injector was reused following its overhaul, reassembly and calibration.


This is a short video of us removing an injector from a Citroen C8 / Peugeot / Fiat Ulysee engine This video shows a Citroen C8 with the engine in the car having its seized injectors pulled, the metallic bang/ting noise is made as the extremely tight injector is pulled with 20 tonnes of hydraulic force and suddenly releases and jumps up a few millimetres as you can see in the video, the injector stays tight and the process is repeated until removal is complete. this process is now normally 99% successful and the majority of the injectors are reusable after overhaul reassembly and calibration.

The same engine is fitted to the Fiat ulysse and Peugeot 807 and Citroen C8 vehicles and the same process applies, some parts like engine mountings require removal to allow access space to the engine, but this is far cheaper and easier than removing the engine totally. this video also shows how tight the injectors can be and this vehicles injectors had been soaked in various oils etc for over two weeks prior to removal being carried out with little benefit.

time using a more advanced set of equipment for tighter injectors


 

 This short video shows the water leak from the scuttle panel that's being blamed for the seized injector problem on the 

Vauxhall Vivaro, Nissan Primastar and Renault Traffic.


With the engine bay stripped out you can see the water dripping off the scuttle below the windscreen and onto the top of the engine.


A secondary design issue that causes further problems is that the drain for the water in the channel between the cam shafts is too high up, this means that the water can sit around the injectors exacerbating the problem.
