This injector is from a G9U engine, it suffers from a similar issue to that of the M9R engine where water collects around the injector and seizes it in, unfortunately on this engine it also rots away the top of the injector

More M9R Solenoid and Piezo injectors suffering from the design fault where water leaks onto the injectors, there is a drain built into the cylinder head / cam cover but unfortunately

due to bad design it is too high up and allows the water to build up and collect around the injectors, holding it there to corrode the injectors over time causing significant damage and

destroying injectors and clamp bolts leaving vehicle owners with large bills for repair. there is a modification to the vehicle which reduces the amount of water getting onto the injectors 

and this modification is mandatory for any warranty to be upheld but due to British weather being damp most of the year the injectors still corrode into place and warranties are being 

voided due to external corrosion on the injectors being visible.


You can clearly see the water build up in these photos and the damage that can be caused the later solenoid injectors with severe corrosion have just rotted away, again this

 issue on the later engines has yet to be acknowledged by the manufactures as an issue and although the vehicle modification from the older model can be applied to the later

 one it still fails to stop all of the corrosion from being caused and stopping its results.

Snapped clamping bolts are a common problem on the M9R engine as fitted to the traffic. vivaro and Primastar vans


pictures 3 & 4 show that differing attempts at removal result in more problems

  1st picture was a 1.3 Vauxhall Corsa with a failed attempt at pulling


2nd picture. This is the third of three M9R injectors in a bare head 


3rd Shows an MR injector with the thread torn off, very common when using the dealer tool.

The first two photos show the infamous "black death" where engine gasses escape past the injector seals and for a carbon bases mess on the top of the engine.


The third picture shows where the injectors in the M9R engine can break just below the collar this doesn't stop us removing them as we have many differing techniques we can use. the missing centre section shows how we removed it so we didn't show it to keep another one of our tricks top secret !


The fourth picture shows the result of another failed removal attempt.



No1,  trying to turn the injector by using an air chisel doesn't work either


No 2,  A  further failed chain pulling attempt


No 3, Exhaust gasses passing he seal cut a groove up the injector side

No1, this is an important failure, the injector has been replaced but ........ some cheaper injectors are sold without the sleeve which needs to be transferred from the failed injector. not in this case so the injector failed early due to being badly sealed and not supported or clamped in correctly

No1 & 2, show damaged Volvo D5 head where the glow plug removal failed, we did manage to resurrect this one though


N03 & 4, these two show the attempt to use a nut as a spacer or packing the get the copper washer to seal ???

Although A P Autodiagnostics were successful in removing many of the above injectors, We strongly recommend that you don't abuse your injectors to this extent before calling us.


Not only does it make our job more difficult but it can also increases your costs quite dramatically in some cases!!!
